Black Queens head coach, Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo has announced a 30 -woman provisional squad to camp in Cape Coast ahead of the WAFU tournament. Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo, a former FIFA referee and ex-footballer steered Ghana to gold in the maiden edition of the WAFU tournament staged in neighbouring Cote D’Ivoire.

The Halifax Ladies gaffer has named a strong 25-woman contingent to start preparations ahead of their title defence.

The squad is largely filled with players who participated in the just-ended Normalization Committee Women Special Competition.

The second edition of the WAFU tournament kicks off on the 8th of May with Ghana expected to redeem her pride after an abysmal outing in the AWCON, where the Black Queens failed to make it out of the group stages.
