Cape Coast-based LadyStrikers yesterday stunned Western giants Hasaacas Ladies at their newly adopted home venue on matchday one.

Interim coach Baaba Cornelius explained how her side prepared towards the opening game despite skepticism before the start of the Normalization Committee’s Women Special Competition.

“Going into this game (vs Hasaacas Ladies) there was a lot of skepticism IN relation to the start of the competition. But we made sure we prepared ourselves adequately for any challenge”

Quizzed on how she was able to mastermind a stunning result against one of the favourites for the competition, coach Baaba Cornelius said:

“There’s no trick on football. The keys to success (in football) are training and determination. We spoke to the girls and they paid heed to the instructions we gave them”

The win cushions the chances of the Aggrey Memorial Park-based outfit as they walk into the mid week encounter against Soccer Intellectuals with a lot of confidence.
