Halifax Ladies brought to a conclusion the 100 per cent start of Police Ladies on match day four with an emphatic 3-1 win at their Tema base this afternoon. Police Ladies were the only side with a perfect start in the ongoing special competition and thus an uphill battle for Halifax Ladies.

But the seemingly dauntless task was made straightforward when in-form striker Ernestina Tetteh broke the deadlock in the 16th minute.

Tetteh, added insults to injury when she doubled the scoreline after 35 minutes with Police Ladies appearing bemused as the scoreline.

A resurgent Police Ladies virtually camped in the half of the hosts when play resumed in the second half,  taking a lion’s share of possession.

The relentless effort from the security service club was finally rewarded as Deborah Afriyie grabbed what eventually turned out to be a consolation goal in the 79th minute.

When it appeared the visitors were most likely to grab an equalizer, Halifax Ladies dealt their illustrious opponents a final knockout blow in stoppage time to put the results out of reach for Police Ladies.

The win puts Halifax Ladies level on points with Police Ladies and crucially joint leaders of group D as the penultimate round of matches kicks off over the weekend.
