The best they say, always comes from the west and Sekondi-based giants Hasaacas Ladies have reaffirmed this old adage as they claimed the ultimate prize with a 3-2 victory Ampem Darkoa on Sunday.
Hasaacas Ladies clawed back from a 2-0 deficit to stage the greatest comeback of the Normalization Committee Women Special Competition at the El Wak Sports stadium yesterday. Northern zone outfit, Ampem Darkoa, took the lead in the 18th minute and doubled their lead in the 28th minute.
Tactician, Yusif Basigi, varied his tactics and made a single change bringing on Lily Niber Lawrence, which inspired the comeback as Evelyn Badu pulled one back, before U-17 sensation, Milot Pokuaa leveled the scoreline before the stroke of halftime.
Eventual top scorer and club captain, Perpetual Agyekum, stepped up in the 89th minute to slot home her sixth penalty of the competition to complete the comeback.
The hard-fought win has written the name of Hasaacas Ladies in the folklore of Ghana football as they added another trophy to their collection yesterday.
