Red-hot center forward, Ernestina Tetteh took it upon herself to gun down the air of invincibility surrounding the security service team, scoring a hat trick in the 3-1 victory over Police Ladies. Tema-based outfit Halifax Ladies brought an end to the unbeaten run of Police Ladies with an emphatic home victory against table toppers, Police Ladies.

The win for Halifax Ladies puts them level on points with the losers and most importantly joint leaders of Group D,  intensifying their chances of qualifying to the next phase of the special competition.

The game was dominated by the away side, while Police Ladies enjoyed possession the homesters enjoyed the scoring.

After going down by two first half goals in the 16th and 35th minute, Police Ladies returned from the half time break firing at all cylinders but their hustle and bustle could only be rewarded with a consolation goal by Deborah Afriyie eleven minutes from time.

Tetteh grabbed her first two goals in the first half before putting a dagger in the heart of Police Ladies deep into stoppage time with her personal and team’s third goal to wrap up a good outing for coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo’s side.

A total of six goals in four matches puts Ernestina Tetteh in a comfortable position to claim the goal queen award.

The special competition returns for the penultimate round of group games over the weekend.
