Player of Hasaacas Ladies, Lily Niber Lawrence has firmly set her sight on the special competition trophy.

Hasaacas Ladies, only qualified from Group C on the final day of matches, as they edged Soccer Intellectuals by 2-1 on Wednesday, progressing together with Elmina-based Sea Lions, who topped the group.

The three-time National Women’s League champions have largely spent time on the bottom of the group due to their poor start, but a resurgent performance propelled them to second spot.

The win against Soccer Intellectuals was extremely crucial due to the level of closeness between the teams in the group with LadyStrikers missing out on qualification by a point whiles losers, Soccer Intellectuals missed by two.

In an interview with NBSportslive, Lily Niber Lawrence is confident her side can go all the way in the tournament.

“So far as we have made it out of the group, we are targeting the ultimate prize (trophy).”

Lily Niber Lawrence and her colleagues from Sekondi will hope their gas does not run out in the knockout stages, as there won’t be a second chance to redeem their image.
