Nigerian Women Football league is set to get a new identity as the NWFL logo challenge gets a winner.

A Lagos-based Graphic Designer, Olanrewaju Elewude, has emerged the winner of the Nigerian Women Football League Logo Challenge.

The competition which was thrown open to the public in November 2019 saw entries from over 48 great designers.

The selection process took place in December 2019 with the entries trimmed down to three and Elewude’s design outshined others. He was presented the sum of hundred thousand naira by the league Chairperson, Aisha Falode on Thursday.

Speaking at the cheque presentation ceremony, Aisha Falode, applauded all the participants for their efforts and promised that the new brand identity which represents the modern world class league brand, would be unveiled to the public on a later date.

“A logo design is just one of the components of the rebranding scheme, it is therefore important to develop it in tandem with other elements.

“The goal is to create a brand identity that represents the new direction of the NWFL in line with modern and global standards.

“The selection process was a daunting task as there were a lot of good entries which made it difficult to make the final selection. However Elewude’s design gives the true representation of what the NWFL stands for.

“This is the point where work begins as we intend to integrate the winning design with the brand strategy and framework.

“We want to say a very big thank you to all and to the forty-eight contestants who sent in their entries. Also to our online and offline community for always being there, also for helping to spread the message.

“The date for the unveiling of the brand new logo of the Nigeria Women Football League will be announced soon. Thank you all for being a part of the ongoing process to deliver the NWFL we all can be proud of.
