In preparation for the 2019/2020 Nigerian Women Premier League, the technical crew of Edo Queens Football Club of Benin have commenced intensive screening exercise for players wishing to be part of the team for next football season.
Speaking with the entrants at the end of the first day screening exercise yesterday, technical Adviser of the team Coach Gabriel Adejor advised the players to be their best behavior to achieve their aim and purpose of coming down to Benin City.
He also urge his retained players to accept the entrants wholeheartedly and unity must exist as it leads to success alongside team work.
“For those of you who are here for this screening exercise, you should know why you have left your various states to come to Benin for this screening, it is not that we don’t have players, we have some quality players but we just want to screen and get some good ones to make up the number we are looking for.
“The state government have given us order and permission to recruit players for both the senior and junior team. At the end of this exercise, those of you we are able to meet our standard will join the senior side, why the others will be move to team B”.
“Again I want advice you to be with your friends, Edo Queens players are friendly people. We are not going to sack anybody but for my old players, you have to wake up because with the caliber of players that have come for this exercise, you don’t need a prophet to tell you that you must wake up and fight for shirts if you want to remain in the team. We want to win laurels so we must work hard for it. Good luck to you all.”
Edo Queens finished in the second spot of the group B last Season but it look forward to having a superb outing in the NWFL come next season.
