Ahead of Nigeria Women Premier League Super 4 Final, Confluence Queens head coach, Whyte Ogbonda, has vowed to ensure an upset is recorded against favourites Rivers Angels of Port Harcourt.

The coach told NWFL Media at the Agege Stadium, Lagos after his team defeated Adamawa Queens in the first semi finals, that, It’s his dearest desire at the moment is to lift the coveted trophy of the 2018/2019 Nigeria Women Premier League.

A brace from Arit Usang, in the first half of the encounter ensured that the new direction ladies from Kogi state will be playing their first ever NWPL Super 4 final on Sunday against multiple champions, Rivers Angels.

Ogbonda said the goal margin against the Adamawa Queens would have been a harvest if his wards had followed the instructions he gave them before the match.

“Of course, I’m living my dream at the moment and our qualification for the final of Super 4 is almost like a dream come through.

“That’s the dream of every club and coach to be in the final of the Super 4 because that is where it truly happens and where people come to see the stuff a team is made of. That’s the biggest stage and dream of every team.

“So I’m a happy man as we are there in the final on Sunday. I saw it coming.

“Of course, I will want to be remembered as the coach that led the club to their first major title in Nigeria.

“If I win, it will be the first time that I will be winning a major trophy as a Head Coach. The team never to the final of the Super 4 that has not been there in the past.

“I will not say that Adamawa paid us undue respect or troubled us rather I would say that my players did not play strictly to instruction if they had done that especially what we do in trainings we would have won the match with at least five unreplied goals in the first half.

“I am happy we won in the final and kudos to Adamawa Queens for their doggedness as they proved their worth as champions, too,” said the former Rivers Angels and Ibom Angels coach to NWFL Media.

Confluence Queens will square up with the most decorated side in the land, Rivers Angels in the 2019 NWPL Super 4 final on Sunday at the Agege Stadium in Lagos.

Adamawa Queens and reigning champions, Bayelsa Queens will play the losers final on Sunday at the Agege Stadium.
