NWPL: Edo Queens rebranded by the State: unveiled new kits for 2019/20 Season after Equal Pay approval

In preparation for the 2019/20 Season, Nigerian Women Premier league side Edo Queens has been rebranded by the State.

This came to pass after the state government approved the equal payment of the team and their male counterparts on Tuesday.

The event which was graced by Edo State First lady in Person of Mrs Betty Obaseki, Chairperson of the Nigerian Women Premier league board Mrs Aisha Falode the Deputy Governor, Philip Shuaib and other dignitaries in the Nigerian Football World also saw the unveiling of the team new how and away jersey and logo which inscribe the beautiful culture of the state.

Speaking at the event, the Chairperson of the Nigerian Women Premier league board Mrs Aisha Falode commended the Edo State Government for being the first to address issues of gender inequality in football by approving equal pay and promises more better welfare package.

The wife of the state Governor Her Excellency Mrs. Betty Obaseki urge the team to bring back trophies to the state. So that they can enjoy full benefits from the pragmatic governor.

The sports loving Deputy I Governor Philip Shuaib has also announced that the state governor has approved the same salary structure with that of their male counterpart.
