Rivers, Confluence cruise to final as Bayelsa, Adamawa Queens battle for third place.

It was a battle for the fittest in the first day of the 2019 Nigerian Women Premier league Super 4 matches played Agege Stadium on Friday.

Debutants, Bayelsa Queens and River Angels battle it out till the end of regulation time which ended in stalemate.

The Jewels of Rivers picked the tickets after their 4-2 win on penalties all thanks to River Angels goalie chiamaka Nnadozie’s wonderful saves during the penalty shootout.

The Super Falcons goalkeeper denied Bayelsa Queens forwards Anjor Mary and Joy Jerry goals in the first to spot kicks.

Meanwhile, River Angels Amaechi Ojini, Ifeoma Paulinus, Cynthia Aku and Blessing Okpe all converted their spot kicks to book a spot in the finals scheduled for Sunday.

Earlier on, a brace from Arit Usang gave Confluence Queens a 2-0 victory over Adamawa Queens.

Rivers Angels will now face Confluence Queens in Sunday’s final while Bayelsa Queens will face Adamawa Queens in the third place match.
