Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes that Jadon Sancho has all of the required attributes to make a name for himself at Old Trafford.
After almost joining United last summer, the England international finally completed his move to the club last month, joining in a £72.9million deal from Borussia Dortmund.
Having not been part of United’s pre-season preparations, Sancho was forced to make his debut from the bench, appearing as a second half substitute in last Saturday’s 5-1 win over Leeds United.
But now he has had another full week on the training ground, both familiarising himself with Solskjaer’s demands and his new team-mates, the winger could secure his first start for his new club against Southampton this afternoon.
And for Solskjaer, Sancho is a tailor-made signing for United, insisting he has all of the necessary tools to be a success at Old Trafford.
Solskjaer told Sky Sports : “For me, he fits us like a glove, because he is creative, fearless, he has got quality, is hard working, is humble and he has got all of the attributes to be a success at Man United.
“He’s very young and sometimes you think ‘wow, all the experience he has on his young shoulders’.
“He will also get better.”
Sancho, should he be handed his first start in United colours, is likely to replace Daniel James in the starting line-up, meaning he will most probably line-up on the right of the advanced midfield three alongside Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba.
Mason Greenwood, who netted United’s second against Leeds last weekend, is likely to keep his place in the side and spearhead the forward line.
