Raphael Varane sends message to fellow Manchester United signing Jadon Sancho – Manchester Evening News

Raphael Varane is relishing the prospect of linking up with fellow Manchester United signing Jadon Sancho.

The 28-year-old was officially unveiled at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon — just before watching his teammates crush bitter rivals Leeds on the opening day of the Premier League season.

Portuguese sensation Bruno Fernandes led the way with a hat-trick in front of returning supporters. Mason Greenwood and Fred also got in on the act, scoring upon the restart as Varane’s compatriot Paul Pogba laid on four eye-catching assists.

It was a memorable day for the United supporters on their return to Old Trafford, not least because of Varane’s brilliant unveiling on the pitch.

Of course, Varane played no part in the game, though Manchester City academy graduate Sancho was introduced for only the final 15 minutes against the Whites.

It means there should be even more to come from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side and Varane is keen to play his part.

Indeed, the World Cup winner and 79-cap France international tagged Sancho in his latest Instagram post.

Addressing 16.3 million followers on his social media platform, Varane posted a picture of himself deep in conversation with Sancho alongside the caption: “Back to work with new colleagues!”

Having clocked up that impressive opening day victory, United return to Premier League action at Southampton on Sunday afternoon (2pm). It could see Sancho and Varane both come into the starting line-up.
