Arsenal youngster Reiss Nelson appears to have dropped potential a hint on where he will be playing his football next season, liking a post on Instagram linking him with a move to Brighton.
Nelson looked destined to become a future star after making a huge impression throughout the Gunners’ youth ranks, resulting in former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger promoting him to the senior side back in 2017.
However, things haven’t quite materialised for the 21-year-old, who made just two Premier League appearances last term after falling behind the likes of Bukayo Saka, Willian and Nicolas Pepe in the pecking order.
football.london understands that Greek outfit Olympiacos are interested in Nelson, who has just 12 months remaining on his current deal at the Emirates.
Still, the north Londoners have reportedly offered Nelson an extension on his contract, according to CBS Sports, but with no breakthrough in talks just yet, the likes of Brighton, Crystal Palace and Brentford are all said to be interested in the England Under-21 international.
The Hale End graduate now appears to have dropped a hint on which of the three he is most likely to join, seeming to ‘like’ a post on Instagram claiming that the Seagulls are interested in signing him this summer.
Given Arsenal are interested in Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma, plenty of the Gunners faithful flocked to social media to suggest a player-plus-cash swap deal involving Nelson could be on the cards.
football.london exclusively revealed in January that Mikel Arteta’s side were interested in the Mali international and that he would be keen on making the move to the Emirates stadium if the opportunity arose.
Therefore, a swap deal involving Nelson and cash could tempt Brighton into selling the tough-tackling midfielder.
Former Tottenham striker Gary Lineker believes that Bissouma would make a great addition to Arteta’s side, heaping praise on the 24-year-old last season.
Lineker tweeted in April: “What an exceptional footballer Yves Bissouma is.”
