Arsenal fans have reacted to the latest England squad announcement, and some are happier than others.
Two Gunners have been called-up for the Three Lions’ upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Hungary.
Bukayo Saka – who has become a regular under Gareth Southgate since his performances helped England to reach the final of Euro 2020 – has made the squad once again, whilst the Gunners’ new fan favourite, Aaron Ramsdale, who missed out on the internationals in August, has also been handed a call-up.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper has impressed in Arsenal colours since making his £24million move to the Emirates in the summer, and his performances have seen him take Bernd Leno’s No.1 position at the club – for now at least.
He has kept three clean sheets in four games in all competitions so far, and made an unbelievable stop to deny Lucas Moura a goal in the Gunners’ 3-1 north London derby win over Tottenham last weekend.
However, as happy as Arsenal fans are to see two of their players be rewarded for their hard work, some are fuming with Southgate’s decision to omit Ben White.
White missed the August qualifiers after he contracted coronavirus, but his performances since returning to the Arsenal defence have been superb.
Southgate has instead opted to select Wolves captain Conor Coady, a decision that has not gone down well.
Take a look at what’s been said on Twitter.
Arsenal still have one more game to play before the international break, and all three of Saka, Ramsdale and White will be looking to play a major part in helping the Gunners to three points away to Brighton on Saturday.
