Here is your Chelsea morning digest for Tuesday, July 20.
Lewandowski has told Chelsea what they want to hear
Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has previously admitted that he would love to experience playing in the Premier League.
Chelsea are desperate to add a striker to their ranks this summer and the Poland international has been closely linked with a move to Stamford Bridge over the last few days. Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland remains the club’s number one target to bolster their attacking ranks, but the prospect of a deal being done for him is beginning to look more and more unlikely.
Instead, Chelsea are poised to turn to Lewandowski, with them reportedly ready to make a £50million offer.
Should Chelsea make their move and look to lure the striker to Stamford Bridge, Lewandowski may not take much persuasion as he admitted several years ago that he would like to play in England.
“I will be able to sign a contract [with any club] in January, but I have never said that I will sign a contract with Bayern,” Lewandowski told The Telegraph back in 2013.
“It was a misunderstanding. It is true I had an opportunity to speak with Sir Alex Ferguson [ in 2012], but we didn’t mention the transfer.
“One day I would like to play in Premier League. It would be a great experience.”
Madrid ready to cash-in on Hazard
Spanish giants Real Madrid have put former Chelsea winger Eden Hazard on the transfer list and are open to selling the Belgium international this summer.
According to reports in Spain, the La Liga giants are ready to cash-in on the former Lille man, just two years after he swapped Stamford Bridge for the Bernabeu.
The winger has found life challenging in the Spanish capital, racking up just 43 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals.
Now, his forgettable period in Madrid could soon come to an end, with the European heavyweights reportedly ready to cut their cloth.
Recently, it was reported that Hazard wanted to return to Chelsea, meaning it will be interesting to see if the Blues share his desire and look to make a move for him in this summer’s transfer window.

Coach confident of keeping Chelsea target
Stuttgart boss Pellegrino Matarazzo is confident that the German club will retain striker Sasa Kalajdzic this summer, despite reports linking him with both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
Both clubs are on the hunt for a new striker this summer and have been recently linked with the Stuttgart goal-getter.
However, boss Matarazzo is not concerned about the claims linking him with a move to the London giants.
“I don’t have the feeling that he [Kalajdzic] is going”, Matarazzo was quoted as saying by German magazine Kicker.
“That’s why that [concerns over his future] is not an issue for us.”
