“Rose Sarpong” Ex Hasaacas Ladies player leads a star studded charity game

Rose Sarpong is a young lady who started playing  football in her childhood days in sefwi wiaso in the Western Region now (Western North)of Ghana for Golden girls.

Years later, she relocated to Takoradi and  played for the then Ghatal Ladies, playing as a center back. She switched camp to Sekondi Hasaacas Ladies and changed her position to become a goalkeeper.

She had her lower level education  at Ketan Anglican school and then continued to SNAPS college also in Takoradi. She combined education, learning a trade and  football as well.

As ambitious and the zeal to succeed, she left the shores of Africa to Europe and joined A. C. Berriotxoa Bilbao in Spain.

She has been out of action for some time now due to injury. She is currently working at Argon welding in Spain.


Rose Sarpong says it’s her wish to always  give back to the society where she grew up from, most especially the poor and the needy.

Four years ago a similar event was organized featuring female players who once played for both Ghatel ladies and Hasaacas ladies. The Ex- players played against current players of both teams dubbed western select side.

The second edition of the event will come off 22 day of December 2019, notable players expected to feature in this year event are Legendary Adjowa Bajor, Black Queens striker Samira Suleman and Doreen Awuah, general captain of Ampem Darkoa Ladies.

Newly elected Western Region Football Association chairman Hon Simon Ehomah will grace the occasion as the special guest of honour.

Preparations have been made to visit Sekondi School for the Deaf at Inchaban after the the match for presentation.

Egyam Orphanage has not been left out in this year’s event, management and the entire team will also visit the place to donate some food items.
