Saul Niguez forced Atletico Madrid exit
It has now been revealed that the Spanish international Saul Niiguez pushed for a late loan exit from Atletico Madrid and his exit was key to the Antoine Griezmann return, Sport Witness report.
The Blues finally came to his rescue, but they only took him on a temporary deal, which left the Spain international puzzled.
Enrique Cerezo, the president of the Spanish club was interviewed by Cadena Ser’s program, El Larguero, where he suggested Saúl’s move to Stamford Bridge opened the door for Diego Simeone’s side to sign the French forward.
“It was a three-way operation and we have been lucky to have Griezmann for the next two years,” he said.
“We did not count on Griezmann, but we did not know if Saúl was going to leave. I have not yet been able to speak to him because he was in France.”
He then added: “Saúl was not very satisfied in the position in which he was playing and has decided to leave. Wherever he goes he will be a great player and much loved by Atlético de Madrid.”
Declan Rice prediction
Former Premier League full-back Glen Johnson is surprised that neither of Arsenal or Chelsea made their respective moves for Yves Bissouma and Declan Rice as both opted for alternative options.
The Gunners’ signing of Albert Sambi Lokonga coupled with their west London rivals loan purchase of Spanish international Saul Niguez has meant that the duo were not needed this summer.
Both clubs have had a long-term interest in Bissouma and Rice respectively, but Brighton’s and West Ham’s reluctance stances to let go of their prized assets at reasonable prices forced the London duo to look elsewhere.
It is understood that both clubs will reignite their interest in the upcoming January transfer window ahead of potential transfer swoops as Arsenal and Chelsea look to improve their current sides.
He told bettingodds.com: “Everything’s about timing and I don’t know how long certain players’ current contracts are. Obviously, Declan’s being linked to Chelsea and other clubs for a long, long time.

Jules Kounde transfer stance known
Chelsea have started the Premier League season in impressive fashion, picking up seven points from their opening three matches.
Despite the great summer transfer window for Marina Granovskaia and co, one player who didn’t end up joining was Jules Kounde, who will stay at Sevilla for the 2021/22 season.
And now the centre-back is reportedly ignoring calls from his manager Julen Lopetegui and director of football Monchi, per the Spanish Football Podcast (h/t the Daily Mirror).
They claim that Kounde is “furious” with Sevilla for snubbing his transfer to Stamford Bridge, as the Blues looked to add more depth in the defensive department.
The La Liga outfit were supposedly demanding a fee of over £68.5million for the 22-year-old and Chelsea didn’t end up meeting that valuation, opting to sign Saul instead.
