Kenyan International Wincate Kaari has signed for Serengeti Lite Women’s Premier League side Yanga Princess ahead of the 2020/2021 season.
The 20-year-old becomes the second Harambee Starlets player to join the Tanzanian Women’s Premier League after Kisumu All Starlets’ Bertha Omita who recently inked a deal with reigning champions Simba Queens.
Kaari helped Gaspo Youth secure a second-place finish in the 2019/2020 Kenya Women’s Premier League before joining rivals Thika Queens earlier this year. At Thika Queens, the skillful player only featured in a number of games before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
At International level, Kaari has been a vital ingredient for the David Ouma coached side. She played a great role in Harambee Starlets impressive run at the CAF 2020 Olympic Qualifiers helping Starlets reach the fourth round where they narrowly lost to eventual winners Zambia.
Kaari joins the growing list of Kenyan Internationals playing professional football abroad. So far, over 10 Harambee Starlets players have moved abroad including Vivian Corazone Odhiambo (Portugal), Esse Akida (Turkey) and Cynthia Shilwatso (Spain).
