Tennis ace Serena Williams’ smashed racket from the US Open final in 2018 has sold for $20,910 at auction.
NewsChain reported last month that the star gave her racket to a ball boy, Justin Arrington-Holmes, at the infamous final and he subsequently sold it for $500.
The tennis legend lost the final in straight sets to Naomi Osaka. The player damaged the racket after becoming frustrated with her performance.
Williams was also reprimanded for her language directed at umpire Carlos Ramos and even refused to shake his hand after the game.

The auction, held in New Jersey, also sold other sports memorabilia with Jesse Owens’ gold medal from the 1936 Olympics fetching the most money – $615,000. .
Other items included a cancelled check signed by Michael Jordan which was sold for $12,300 and a Jerry Rice 49ers jersey which was bought for $27,060.
