The Confederation of African Football will start the maiden Women’s Champions League in 2021
The news came as a surprise to many women football loving fans,
Togo coach Tomety Kaï has added her voice to the welcoming news.
“If we are to organize the Champions League well and the clubs acquire the necessary means, I think that the Togolese clubs can validly represent the country , as much as other nations,” she said.
Kai hopes this competition will help develop the women’s game in Togo.
She added: ”This is not an extraordinary competition that exceeds the Togolese players. If our players remain active for four to six months per season, they can validly compete in an African Champions League.”
CAF is yet to give details on how the competition would be played.
