Head coach of the Black Queens, Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo was left bemused by her team’s performance against Gabon however she is ready to correct her mistakes.
Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo and her charges sailed through to the third round of the Tokyo 2020 qualifiers with a not-too-convincing performance despite winning 2-0 against Gabon yesterday.
The Queens eventually qualified on a 5-0 aggregate score and will square off against Kenya in the third round.
Speaking to NBSportslive after yesterday’s game, she said:
“It’s about three points so I’m okay [satisfied] with the results.
“I don’t really know what exactly went wrong because the team I used in Gabon, almost every player featured just two changes were effected to the team and it was not too good.
“I think I’ve learnt from that mistake. If there’s no mistake there’s no correction.
“So we are going back to the drawing board to correct our mistakes” she ended.
