Tottenham press conference live: Antonio Conte on Son Heung-min hat-trick, Bentancur and victory – Football.London

Antonio Conte is speaking to the media following Tottenham Hotspur’s 6-2 win against Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Conte made four changes to the team that lost at Sporting CP in the Champions League on Tuesday night, with Son Heung-min, Cristian Romero, Emerson Royal and the injured Ben Davies all dropping to the bench. The game’s opening minutes brought plenty of drama with goals for both sides.

First, Leicester won a penalty when Davinson Sanchez dived in and fouled James Justin. While Hugo Lloris saved Youri Tielemans’ first penalty, he was adjudged to have moved off his line early, and the Belgian scored from the retaken kick. However, Spurs were level just minutes later when Dejan Kulusevski, back in the team after three matches on the bench, curled in a perfect cross for Harry Kane to head home at the back post.

Spurs took the lead on 21 minutes when Eric Dier flicked a header into the far corner of the Leicester net from Ivan Perisic’s curling corner. However, the visitors found an equaliser on 41 minutes when James Maddison looped a shot over Lloris’ dive and into the net after Timothy Castagne beat Ryan Sessegnon down the right.

Tottenham regained the lead within minutes of the second half starting when Rodrigo Bentancur won the ball back in midfield from Wilfred Ndidi, ran all the way through and stroked home his first goal for the club.

It was fitting that the Son would enter the pitch to score the fourth goal, running on to Bentancur’s pass and curling a glorious shot into the top right corner to open his account this season. It sparked a huge cheer from around the stadium.

Then he made it five with a curling left-footed finish and topped it off with a hat-trick after running on to Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s pass and slotting underneath the goalkeeper.
