UEFA has appointed the hosts for several club competition finals in the coming years.
The Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, which was initially scheduled to host the 2021 Champions League final, will now host the 2023 edition.
The final, between Chelsea and Man City, was relocated to Porto because of travel difficulties for English fans in reaching Istanbul as a result of Turkey being placed on UK’s ‘red list’ because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The 2021/22 edition, which is set for May 28, will now be played at the Saint Petersburg Stadium in Russia
Consequently, the 2023 UEFA Champions League final originally to be played in Munich will be moved to 2025.
Wembley Stadium will retain the rights to stage the UEFA Champions League final in 2024.
Dublin will host the UEFA Europa League final in 2024, whereas Bilbao will host the UEFA Women’s Champions League final in 2024 and the UEFA Europa League final in 2025.
