Ahead of their mouthwatering clash with Nigeria, the female senior national team of Ghana are upbeat of eliminating their football nemesis tonight.
The Black Queens ousted Nigeria from the competition at this stage last year via penalties and are confident of doing same this year.
Speaking to NBSportslive, coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo reechoed the reason why her team are primed to beat Nigeria.
“It seems what the players told you, affirms that the girls are determined. These crop of players are very young, full of energy and are ready to exhibit those energies.
“Looking at the team Nigeria presented, they are huge, big, very athletic and they are see themselves capable of matching them [Nigeria] boot for boot.
“I think that’s the main reason why these girls [Black Queens] wanted to meet Nigeria.”
Ghana plays Nigeria in the second semi finals of the WAFU tournament tonight at the Parc de Sports stadium at 6pm.
