Black Queens head coach, Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo heaped praises on mercurial midfielder, Evelyn Badu after her performance in Ghana’s 2-0 win over Senegal.

Contrary to the previous edition, the female senior national team started on a bright note with a 2-0 victory over their group opponents on match day one of the WAFU zone B competition.

After a sterling performance by the Hasaacas Ladies midfielder, coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo was full of admiration for her.

“Evelyn Badu is a star in the making. This is her major and first ever international game and from no where entering into our first team.

“It’s a breakthrough for her, she needs to be encouraged, she’s a very good player and tactically very disciplined,” the head coach told NBSportslive.

Evelyn Badu will be expected to repeat her performance or up the ante in the next game against next-door neighbours, Togo, who were humbled by Cote D’Ivoire.
