Player for Hasaacas Ladies, Janet Nana Ama Egyir, claimed the Most Valuable Player award in Ghana’s first win of the ongoing WAFU Zone B competition.

Reigning champions of the tournament – Ghana – defeated Senegal 2-0 in their opening encounter of this year’s edition.

After a frustrating first half – where profligacy was the order of the day – Evelyn Badu broke the deadlock before Northern Ladies goalscoring machine, Abdulai Mukarama added the icing on the cake to clinch the crucial win for Ghana.

Janet Nana Ama Egyir who was Ghana’s brightest star claimed the individual award for the night with her superlative output.

It is no surprise the Hasaacas Ladies star claimed the MVP award as she won the overall Best Player of the Tournament in 2018.

Next up for Ghana is next-door neighbours, Togo – who were thrashed 5-0 by Cote D’Ivoire – on Friday, May 10.
