Head coach of Police Ladies, Frank Oswald Sam has reiterated his side is still on course after beating Samaria Ladies by a lone goal at the MacDan La Town park on Sunday.
A solitary strike from Alice Eva Darko was enough to settle the scores between the two sides in a cagey affair. The game which was supposed to have taken place earlier had to be postponed due to players of Police Ladies (six in total) joining the various women’s national team.
The results mean Police Ladies remain the only unbeaten outfit in the Southern zone of the 2019-2020 Women’s Premier League – winning three and drawing five in the first round.
Despite going unbeaten after the first round, Police Ladies are still a point shy of second-placed Soccer Intellectuals (14 points) and two adrift of leaders and powerhouse Hasaacas Ladies (15 points).
Speaking to nbsportslive.com after the game, Coach Frank acknowledged his ladies for winning the game, exercising patience and standing on their feet to uphold his philosophy of beautiful football.
He also urged his ladies to be themselves and play their normal game and not to pay attention to any external force.
In addition he stated his team is still on course and they are not abandoning anything.
Unfortunately, coach Frank Oswald Sam and his charges can’t continue to showcase their beautiful brand of football following the suspension of all football related activities in the wake of COVID-19.
