At the Mcdan La park yesterday, Police Ladies proved too strong for the home side in the match day 7 outstanding game.
The first round of the Women’s league came to an end after the outstanding game was played with Police Ladies winning against their female counterparts 0-1.
Alice Eva Danso scored the only goal of the game in the 37′ to put her side ahead in the game.
Both teams showed moments of brilliances in the early stages of the game with Police Ladies enjoying larger share of possession. All efforts to score the opener was denied by the host Samaria Ladies whose defence was solid in all regulation time.
Eva benefited from a well worked chance to make it count after Samaria Ladies marker failed to take out Eva leading to the goal. This is Eva’s first start in 7 matches this season and her first game for the team in three years which resulted to her scoring.
After recess, Police attempted several efforts at goal but to no avail.
A high performance from Nana Ama Asantewaa ensured her second clean sheet was in place as she denied the host of any chance of scoring.
A rather disappointed Samaria Ladies gave up the ghost after centre referee brought all proceedings to an end at the Mcdan La Park.
The win for Police Ladies sees them on 3rd place with 13 points. The Women’s league resumes next month.
